火事が起きるまでそれは火事ではない。 ダムが決壊するまではダムはこわれていない。 想定していない津波が来るまでは原子力発電所は完全に安全だ。

見たいものしか見ない。見たくないものは見ないから見えない。だから何もしない。 そして破滅する。

歴史から学ぶ人は生き残る。 火事が起きる前にスプリンクラーをつける。 ダムが決壊する前に放水する。 想定以上の津波に耐えられる仕組みを作る。 

見たくないものを見る。そして対処する。

そうでない人は消えていく。

Until there is a fire, it is not a fire. Until a dam breaks, it is not a broken dam.  Until an unforeseen tsunami hits, a nuclear power plant is perfectly safe.

We only see what we want to see. We can’t see that because we don't see what we don't want to see. So nothing is done. And they are doomed.

Those who learn from history survive. Turn on the sprinklers before a fire breaks out. Spray water before a dam bursts. Build a system to withstand a larger-than-expected tsunami.

See what you don't want to see. And deal with it.

Those who don't will disappear.
